3 <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Budget Amendment #4-A increases the Philip Nick Waters <br /> Emergency Services Building Remediation Capital Project by $226,500 by the re-purposing of <br /> funds of $105,000 from the Roofing Capital Project, and $121,500 from the HVAC Capital <br /> Project. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are applicable <br /> to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, gang <br /> activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> • GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br /> Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting and <br /> volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to participation. <br /> Remediating and repairing the Philip Nick Waters Emergency Services building will create a <br /> safe working environment for staff. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br /> 1) Ratify the County Manager's signature on Change Amendment 4 to the executed <br /> contract with Sasser Companies, Inc. in the amount of $119,623.14; and <br /> 2) Approve Budget Amendment #4-A to increase the overall Philip Nick Waters Emergency <br /> Services Building Remediation Capital Project budget by adding an additional $226,500, <br /> for a total project budget of $3,435,959. <br />
