2 <br /> Upon approval by the Board of County Commissioners, the Office of the State Fire Marshal can <br /> legally approve transfer of those affected parcels to the White Cross Fire Insurance District. <br /> Five (5) parcels will be added to the White Cross Fire Insurance District as shown on the revised <br /> map of the Cane Creek Fire Insurance District. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br /> with this item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The following Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact is applicable to this item: <br /> ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND WASTE REDUCTION <br /> Initiate policies and programs that: 1) conserve energy; 2) reduce resource consumption; <br /> 3) increase the use of recycled and renewable resources; and 4) minimize waste stream <br /> impacts on the environment. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The approval of this item has no financial impact on the County. This is <br /> an administrative action only and no changes in fire protection, service delivery or tax rates will <br /> be reflected by approval of the Board of County Commissioners. Upon approval by the Board <br /> and N. C. Department of Insurance, property owners in the expanded area will be eligible for <br /> lower fire insurance premiums. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br /> White Cross Fire Insurance District Boundary map for insurance purposes only. <br />
