4 <br /> 1 PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br /> 2 CHAPEL HILL HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM <br /> 3 WINNING THE 2019 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, on November 9, 2019, the Chapel Hill High School Women's Volleyball Team <br /> 7 captured the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's (NCHSAA) 3A <br /> 8 State Championship; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Ross Fields, the Chapel Hill High School Women's <br /> 10 Volleyball Team earned its third NCHSAA title; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, the Tigers completed the season with a 28-1 record; and <br /> 12 WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the Tigers brought <br /> 13 honor upon themselves, Chapel Hill High School, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City <br /> 14 Schools District and Orange County; <br /> 15 <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 17 expresses its sincere appreciation and respect to the Chapel Hill High School Women's <br /> 18 Volleyball Team and Coach Ross Fields for the team's outstanding achievement, and their <br /> 19 inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their dedication, teamwork, and athletic <br /> 20 prowess. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 This the 10t" day of December 2019. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 A motion was made by Commissioner Greene, seconded by Commissioner Bedford for <br /> 25 the Board to approve and authorize the Chair to sign the attached proclamation recognizing the <br /> 26 Chapel Hill High School Women's Volleyball Team for winning the 2019 State 3A Championship <br /> 27 and honoring the players and Coach Ross Fields for representing the community with the <br /> 28 highest ideals of sportsmanship and integrity. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 31 <br /> 32 b.
