it's <br />irutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />Apt it 20, 1960 <br />The Orange County Beard of Commissioners met in adjourned session on hpri1 20, 196D, at <br />ten o'clock a.m. in the Commmissioners' room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, i:, C, <br />;:embers present: Chairman R. J.. 'a. Hobbs, Coeenissioners Clarence Jones, Donald_cDade, Donald <br />Stanford and Henry 'Talker. <br />Hembers absent: Done <br />Representatives of the State Ri?hway Co:uaission presented a tentative road pro?raci for the <br />1960-1961 fiscal year. After considerable aiscussion of the program Commissioner Stanford <br />moved the Board approve the tentative program. Commissioner Li.cDade gave a second to this <br />motion. Chairman Hobbs called for a vote there were h ayes and 0 nayes. Chairmen Hobbs <br />then declared the motion passed and approved. <br />The following road petitions were approved and the Clerk was requested to forward same <br />to the State Higtnvay Commission. <br />1. Road located in Hillsboro Township runs from old y10 highway back to old 1110 highway, save <br />is a loop road located in the subdivision of Ora:ye F.eights. <br />2. Road located in Hillsboro Township runs from. railroad north and known as Murrary Avenue <br />in Wast Hillsboro. <br />3. Road located in Hillsboro Township fruns from intersection of Dimocks 111 road at bridge <br />to end of paving at water plant and is known as old ('10 from Hillsboro to Efland. <br />A letter from Clyde C. Carter, Secretary of the County Board of Elections, was read by Chairman <br />Hobbs. Said letter' stated "that the County Board of elections could not attend the meeting of <br />the County Board of Commissioners at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 1960." <br />There being no further business this meeting was adjourned to meet again on Thursday, <br />Anti! 21, 1960, to canvass the election returns from the Special Election held in the White <br />Cross School District on Tuesday, April 19, 1960. <br />R, J. - Hobbs <br />Chairman <br />5. Settle <br />Acting Clerk <br />iinutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />April 21, 1960, <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Thursday, April 21, 1960, <br />at eleven o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners) room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, IN. C. <br />'_'embers present: Chairman R. J, 1.1. Hobbs, Commissioners Donald 'dcDade and Donald Stanford. <br />'Sembers absent: Cocassioners Clarence Jones and Henry Walker. <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of carvassin the, votes cast in the County of the <br />Special Election held in the White Cross Precinct on the question of the enlargement of the <br />Chapel Hill, City Administrative unit and school tax of the same rate. <br />Eelvin Lloyd, Registrar of said Precinct, presented to the Board the results of said election <br />alon.; with the proper forms signed by the said registrar and jud,es of said election. <br />The reports shooed that five hundred and thirty, eight (538) persons registered in said precinct, of <br />this number tom hundred and three (203) votes were cast FOR enlargement of the Chapel Hill City <br />Administrative Unit and School Tam of the same rate ana three hundred and two (302) votes were cast <br />AGAINST enlargement of the Chapel Hill City Administrative Unit and School Tax of the same rate. <br />at. Lloyd presented a bill for his service as xegistrar which vias _rf-teen (17) days service <br />at fifteen dollars per day and the judges were awarded ten dollars (;;10.00) each for their'service. <br />There bean.- no further business this meeting was adjourned. <br />R, J.
