• Establish for selected permanent board and commission a one year training period to be <br />followed by two three-year terms in accordance with the Board's policy; <br />• Confirm that the terms of Dr. Janet Southerland and Dr. Jonathan Klein will end on June <br />30, 2001 a'nd direct the Clerk to the Board to recruit for these positions. <br />The Manager recommends that: <br />1) The BOCC suspend its policy of two term limits until it has had sufficient time to re- <br />examine a long-term policy for Board appointments; <br />2) During this time, the Board may wish to extend the terms of selected Board members <br />whose second three year terms are set to expire by one additional year; <br />3) The Board is encouraged to consider establishing for selected permanent boards and <br />commissions a ane year training period to be followed by two three-year terms in <br />accordance with the Board's policy. <br />
