• Clarification/discussion: What is our role? - education or recruitment? <br />• Application pool is limited. <br />• Not a lot of response from civic groups. <br />• Do any facilities have Family day? Brookdale, Stratford may and we could use that as an <br />opportunity to educate families about our existence and role. <br />• Newspaper article will serve to both recruit and educate. Deadline is Sept 30th for print in <br />the Senior Times. <br />• New volunteer coordinator Yvette Missri; we will invite her to this committee mtg; she was <br />in charge of Project Engage. She may be able to help match volunteers with CAC positions. <br />Beverly Shuford, in Communications, sends out press releases and creates flyers. We could <br />incorporate her skills. Max will send her what we have used in the past. <br />• Britthaven of Chapel Hill has been sold to Liberty Healthcare, and will probably open up part <br />of the building and long-term plan may be to relocate within Orange County. <br />Visitation Reports <br />• Important to visit Carillon and Villines since 2nd quarter was overlooked. <br />o Carol Woods 8/13/15 – approved <br />o Brookdale Meadowmont 8/13/15 – approved <br />o Prior reports by Talita are being addressed. <br />• It was noted that no 2015 reports seemed to be visible online. Charlotte Terwilliger will <br />review. It is important to keep information current. <br />Housekeeping and New Business <br />• Dan and Jack Vogt are both up for reappointment. Both expressed interest and Charlotte <br />Terwilliger will put their names forward. <br />• Committee member Yvonne Mendenhall is attending Aging meetings. <br />• Committee members were invited to attend CAC Leadership Training on Sept 15 <br />• Max extended invitation to Paul Klever to attend a committee meeting but he has been <br />unable to respond. <br /> <br />Next Meeting: Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm at Central Orange <br />Senior Center <br />Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 4:48pm. <br /> <br />(Minutes submitted by Deborah Stewart, Secretary)
