Proposal for Engineering Services <br />Orange County Motor Pool Roof Replacement <br />Prepared for Orange County Asset Management Services <br />Prepared by Atlas Engineering - Project No.: J2400 <br />December 9, 2019 - Page 3 <br /> <br />less than 5 business days prior to the conference call for the purpose of review and <br />discussion. <br />x Atlas will provide a revised cost estimate for the project based for review by the County <br />and to confirm that adequate budget is available. <br /> <br />5. Construction Documents (100% and Bid Documents): Submit Construction Documents <br />(100% completion) for review by the Owner and any required regulatory agencies. <br />x Design documents will include front end documents, complete technical specifications, <br />and design drawings. <br />x The design of the replacement roof system(s) will address wind uplift resistance, roof <br />primary and secondary drainage requirements, roof thermal resistance, roof deck <br />inspection and repair, insulation types and attachment methods, roof membrane/system <br />types and attachment methods, repair materials and work sequence, and system <br />warranty requirements to meet or exceed applicable building code and industry <br />standard criteria. <br />x Owner review comments from the 75% Construction Documents will be discussed and <br />incorporated into the 100% Construction Document package. <br />x 100% Construction Documents would be acceptable for submittal to the County <br />Permitting Office. <br />x Submit Bid Documents for the roof replacement project. Owner review comments <br />from the 100% Construction Documents will be incorporated into the 100% <br />Construction Document package. <br />x Bid Documents will be signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer registered in the <br />State of North Carolina and a Registered Roof Consultant (IIBEC-certified RRC). <br />x Bid Documents will be acceptable for use in obtaining competitive bids for the work <br />in accordance with the North Carolina General Statutes. <br /> <br />Bidding and Contract Award <br />6. Provide an Advertisement for Bids for public advertisement. If publicly advertised, <br />Advertisement for Bids will be sent to public electronic plan rooms and newspaper(s) (if <br />requested by the Owner). Public advertising costs will be paid by the Owner directly to the <br />newspaper or through reimbursement to Atlas if preferred by the Owner. <br /> <br />7. Distribute Bid Document Sets to known, qualified, or interested Bidders and maintain a <br />document distribution list. <br /> <br />8. Schedule and attend an on-site Pre-Bid Meeting for prospective bidders and issue Pre-Bid <br />Meeting Minutes to attendees. <br /> <br />9. Respond to technical questions during the bid process, review requests for substitutions, and <br />issue addenda as necessary. <br /> <br />10. Attend the bid opening and receive copies of the bids for review. Assist the Owner in review <br />of bids received and make recommendations to the Owner for award of the work. A certified <br />bid tabulation will be provided as a part of the recommendation package. <br /> <br />11. Assist Owner with Construction Contract execution process if requested.
