Lands Legacy Annual Action Plan 2001 -02 Adopted 4/11/01 <br /> • Finalize land acquisition for a Bingham Township Community <br /> Park (with active and low- impact recreation ) , in conjunction <br /> with OWASA <br /> • Assist in the development of the November 2001 Parks and Open <br /> Space bond , : and adjust priorities for the Action Plan accordingly <br /> • In all acquisitions , be cognizant of potential school site co - location <br /> D . Cultural and Archaeological Sites <br /> Continue efforts to accomplish preservation of cultural and <br /> archaeological sites associated with parkland acquisitions during this <br /> timeframe . <br /> • Develop a plan and identify acquisition priorities for proposed . " heritage <br /> corridors" in central Orange County, a multi -year objective of <br /> protecting colonial and pre - colonial historic sites and roadway <br /> corridors, such as St . Mary's Road , Indian Trading Path , John Lawson <br /> trail , historic Grayfields , prominent Revolutionary War battlefields and <br /> other areas . <br /> • Conduct or support research on possible location and significance of <br /> Grayfields , site of first County of Orange court — in preparation for the <br /> upcoming 250th anniversary of the County ( 2002 ) . <br /> E . Riparian Buffers <br /> • With the focus on parklands , natural areas and farmland easements <br /> attempt to accomplish preservation of buffers in water supply <br /> watersheds through parkland acquisitions during this timeframe . <br /> 4 <br />
