05 <br /> PROCESS FOR DESIGNATION OF LOCAL LANDMARKS <br /> Property Owner accepts HPC invitation to become designated landmark. HPC staff <br /> (Planning ]Dept) has 30 days from date of receipt of reply to complete, or take to steps <br /> toward completion of, a survey and research report. (If not NR property, HPC staff will <br /> contact property owner explaining that a consultant will , be contracted to perform the S/R report.) <br /> Planning Department submits S/R report to the HPC at first regular meeting after <br /> completion of report. Prior to the meeting, notices will be sent via certified mail to prospective <br /> landmark designee and APOs within 500 feet of proposed landmark. <br /> HPC accepts S/R report, forwards to SHPO. <br /> SHPO submits comments within 30 days of receipt of S/R report <br /> HPC considers SHPO comments at first regular meeting after receipt; considers <br /> recommendation to designate. Prior to the meeting, notices will be sent via certified mail to <br /> prospective landmark designee and APOs within 500 feet of proposed landmark. <br /> HPC recommends property be designated as a local landmark; requests proposal be sent to <br /> public hearing. Following materials will be submitted to BOCC for approval of public hearing <br /> notice : ( 1 ) copy of S/k reports (2) copy of SHPO comments ; (3 ) minutes of the HPC meeting at <br /> which designation was considered ; (4) copy of proposed designation ordinance . <br /> BOCC/HPC Joint Public Hearing. Notice of the public hearing shall be published once a week <br /> for two successive calendar weeks . Notice shall give the date, time, and place of the public <br /> hearing. The first advertisement shall be published not less than 10 days nor more . than 25 days <br /> before the date of the hearing. Prior to the public hearing, notices will be sent via certified mail to <br /> prospective landmark designee and APOs within 500 feet of proposed landmark. <br /> HPC submits recommendation to the BOCC within 60 days following the public hearing. <br /> BOCC considers enactment of the proposed designation ordinance after the- HPC <br /> recommendation or 60 days after the public hearing. BOCC adopts ordinance. <br /> Owners and occupants of each landmark notified of designation by certified mail. <br /> A copy of designation ordinance shall be filed . <br /> in the Office of the Register of Deeds in the grantor and' grantee indexes. <br /> in the Office of the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> in the Planning and Inspections Department, <br /> in the Tax Supervisor' s Office, <br /> Notify Land Records office. <br /> Provide suitable plaque of recognition for the designated property . <br />
