Buffalo Mayor Masiello' s task : <br /> force has crafted a reuse plan for that city ' s hospital <br /> complex, designed by famed architect H. H. Richardson, <br /> and is currently presenting it to the Governor. <br /> 1999 Lancaster Pastoral Lancaster County THREATENED The rural beauty of Lancaster County is today _ <br /> threatened by relentless suburban sprawl. In addition, Preservation Maryland persuaded <br /> 150 structures . the Baltimore City Council to include the preservation t <br /> of historic buildings and retention of small, locally owned <br /> v <br /> businesses as objectives in the new West Side Master <br /> Plan. Now, in final anticipation of a victory for <br /> preserving the West Side, anxious preservationists , West <br /> Side merchants and citizens of Baltimore await the <br /> signing of a Memorandum of Agreement drafted by <br /> the Maryland Historical Trust and the City of Baltimore <br /> that will save hundreds of designated buildings <br /> from the wrecking ball. <br /> 1999 Country Estates A proposed interstate loop and THREATENED As many as 5 different alignments for the multilane <br /> of River Road, bridge endanger the estates highway loop have been proposed. The eastern <br /> Louisville, KY across the Ohio River. alignments would do the most damage to the Country <br /> Estates . The issue remains in hot debate and no <br /> resolution is in sight. Before evaluating any options , <br /> the fundamental need for such a loop remains in question. <br />
