FY 2000-2001 FY 1999 2000 1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> DRAFT ADOPTED GOAL <br /> Adopted: 06/21/99 <br /> Revised 5111/00 <br /> Re-,xise a: 05/03,199 <br /> Dof4se 12/10/99 <br /> HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br /> GOAL STATEMENT: Implement the goals and objectives of the Historic Preservation Element of the Comprehensive Plan <br /> Goal Initiated/Proposed.By: Board of County Commissioners/Historic Preservation Commission <br /> Most Recent Version Adopted by BOCC: June 21, 1999 <br /> STATUS REPORT <br /> This goal seeks to carry out the goals and objectives in the Historic Preservation Element of the Comprehensive Plan,which was adopted by the Board in <br /> April, 1996.Work in FY 1999-2000 includes completion of the St.Mary's Road/Trading Path Historic Corridor project,which include money from both <br /> the State Historic Preservation Office and local matching dollars. Other projects include publishing of a Historic Architecture manuscript.No National <br /> Register nominations were feasible for 1999-2000,but pursuit of a possible Local Landmark Designation is ongoing.Likewise,the Hist <br /> rpcprxxafion Commission has opted not to pursue a CLG grant in this eyele,looldng to consider-new potential applieations next year-w4th the new <br /> Land Use and Preservation Planner hired in Deeember .The objectives in this goal for FY 1999 200 2000-2001 are consistent with revisions <br /> made last vear to the ge�4 in fall of 1998.Proposed areas of focus for FY 2001 will include working toward completion of the History-of Orange <br /> County Architecture manuscript,recommendations on the St.Mar_y7's Road Corridor,and design guidelines for Local Landmark program(as <br /> required by the State Historic Preservation Office),and consideration of a potential CLG grant submittal(if a feasible project is available). <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT/RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> Completion of this goal will involve both local and grant funding(if available). A grant of$ ,nnn has been received for-the c+ Nora Rea <br /> pr-ojeet,with$6,000 in County funding and$10,000 for loea4 landmark designatiOns approved in the FY 99 00 budget. <br /> The objeetives assume <br /> cetAinua' b . In addition,the following commitment of existing staff resources will be required: <br /> Land Use and Preservation Planner, ERC Director, and ERC Administrative Assistant. Approximately 1200 hours of volunteer time from the <br /> Historic Preservation Commission is also needed to accomplish the goals. <br />
