Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Ms. Evans; <br />As you know, the Economic Development Commission has two at-large vacancies after <br />Anita Badrock assumes the Chambers' recommended position. We respectfully suggest <br />that Lauri Michel and Mark Crowell be appointed to fill these slots, <br />Ms. Michel is the current chair of the Hillsborough Tourism Board and will represent the <br />interests of Hillsborough businesses to the EDC. Mark Crowell heads the UNC Office of <br />Technology Transfer and will help establish a stronger link with UNG spinofF businesses. <br />We would like to bring to your attention attendance issues with two other members: Eric <br />Tillman and Russ Seibert. Mr. Tillman has missed the last three meetings without <br />calling. Mr. Seibert has serious back problems and has not been able to attend for many <br />months. if the Board chooses to replace these two individuals, we would suggest ,lames <br />Stroud, a Mortgage Account Executive with Bank of America for one slot. We would ask <br />that the other slot remain open so that we can advertise for farmer representation. <br />Thanks for your consideration.
