February 24, 1999 <br /> b . March 10 , 1999 <br /> MOTION : Anderson moved to approve the minutes for February 24, 1999 and March ` 10 , 1999 . <br /> Seconded by Rich . <br /> VOTE : Unanimous . <br /> AGENDA ITEM #4 : CHAIR COMMENTS <br /> AGENDA ITEM #5 : ITEMS FOR DECISION <br /> a . Request for Proposals — Archeological Survey of the St. Mary' s <br /> Road Corridor <br /> Allison asked if there was an advantage or disadvantage of using a professional firm as opposed to a <br /> university type firm and asked Samford if she could give her remarks on this . <br /> Samford responded that overall there would not be much difference . She noted that the two proposals <br /> that were received were very different. She stated that there is not really an advantage of going with a <br /> private firm versus a university-based firm . <br /> Belk stated that he had expected to receive four proposals , one firm from Columbia backed out before the <br /> deadline and the New South Associates firm in Mebane never responded . <br /> Rich stated that personally he felt that Dr . Stine put a lot into the proposal and explained everything she <br /> expects to do in detail . He noted that his feeling from the Wake Forest proposal was for the HPC to <br /> gather everything together and send it to them . <br /> Allison stated that he thought that Dr . Stine ' s previous work in the area was more relevant. <br />
