Elfland : <br /> We are pleased to report that the nomination of the above-referenced property to the <br /> National Register of Historic Places has been scheduled for presentation to the North <br /> Carolina National Register Advisory Committee at its meeting on April 8 , 1999 , in <br /> Raleigh . The Committee will decide whether to authorize me as State Historic <br /> Preservation Officer to sign the nomination and submit it to the U . S . Department of the <br /> Interior, National Park Service, for final review and listing in the National Register , <br /> The National Register is the nation' s official list of historic buildings , districts, <br /> archaeological sites , and other resources worthy of preservation . Enclosed is a set of <br /> National Register Fact Sheets which includes a list of the criteria under which properties <br /> are evaluated . More than 2000 North Carolina properties are now listed in the National <br /> Register . <br /> Listing in the National Register does not affect the rights of a private property owner to <br /> dispose of listed property in any manner . The results of National Register listing are <br /> enumerated on the enclosed National Register Fact Sheet L <br /> Owners of private property nominated to the National Register have an opportunity to <br /> concur in or object to listing in accord with the National Historic Preservation Act and 36 <br /> CFR 60 . The procedure for objecting to the listing of your property is indicated National <br /> Register Fact Sheet S .
