Belk stated that he had informed the County Manager of the HPC ' s recommendation from last <br /> month ' s meeting to complete a National Register nomination for The Oaks district. It is <br /> anticipated that this item will be considered by the Board of Commissioners at their meeting on <br /> ill allow the submittal of the application prior to the ddli eane of January <br /> January 19th which w <br /> 31 st. <br /> b . St. Mary ' s Road Corridor Preservation Planning Study - Historic Architecture <br /> Survey <br /> Belk announced that the Board of Commissioners approved the Requests for Proposals and those <br /> have been mailed to a list of consultants with a due date of January 22 . He stated that in <br /> ill hopefully have three or four consultants to select from and then make a <br /> February the HPC w <br /> recommendation to hire someone . He also stated that, in regards to the archaeological aspect, he <br /> will need to find a doctoral candidate or group of graduate students to take on this project. If this <br /> is not done in a reasonable time, then RFP ' s will need to be sent out to private archaeological <br /> firms and independent consultants . <br /> c. White Oak Grove School - Preparation of National Register Nomination <br /> Belk stated that when the Requests for Proposals were sent out for the St. Mary ' s Road project, <br /> one was included for the White Oak Grove School National Register nomination. He stated that <br /> firms were asked to submit a proposal for one or both of the prof ects so it is possible that one <br /> consultant will be working on both projects . <br /> d .
