Mary ' s Road Corridor and evaluation of this corridor as a potential rural National Register district . I have some familiarity with the area because of two previous projects that I have conducted in Orange County, In 1992 or 1993 Kelly Lally and I conducted the intensive survey of the Chapel Hill Township . In 1996 I conducted the Survey Update of the Hillsborough Historic District . The most relevant recent project conducted by my firm is the Woodville Historic District nomination . Woodville is a plantation village near the Roanoke River in Bertie County. In terms of acreage, . it is much smaller than . the St . Mary ' s Corridor district would likely be, however the types of resources—farmhouses and outbuildings-are similar . Enclosed is a copy of the Woodville Historic District nomination as a sample of my firm ' s recent work. Only a portion of the inventory is included, as it is fairly lengthy . Longleaf Historic Resources would be able to begin the project in April , and complete it by September 1 , 1999 . We would anticipate submitting invoices for the fieldwork phase ; the draft recommendations phase ; and the final recommendation phase .
