Trading Path Preservation Association Proposal 4 <br /> 06 <br /> To accomplish its goals and achieve financial independence , The Trading <br /> Path Preservation Association will : <br /> • Sell membership in the Association to communities , counties and <br /> interested others ; <br /> • Develop and market guidelines and procedures for locating , preserving <br /> and exploiting . Trading Path infrastructure ; <br /> • Produce and distribute multimedia materials suitable for popular and <br /> academic consumption ; <br /> • Promote , develop and market preservation and heritage tourism training <br /> for local agents landagencies in the Trading Path ; and <br /> • Identify , monitor and establish , working relationships with potential <br /> funding sources . <br /> IMMEDIATE TASKS <br /> IN THE NEXT SIX MONTHS THE TRADING PATH PRESERVATION <br /> ASSOCIATION MUST . <br /> • Establish popular , political and academic support in Virginia , South Carolina <br /> and Georgia , and among the Indian communities involved ; <br /> • Complete application for tax exempt status ; <br /> • Create a public presence through targeted mailings ; <br /> • Produce and field a state of the art internet site ; and <br /> • Demonstrate broad support for its endeavor. <br /> ABOUT THE PROJECT TODAY <br /> This project is the outcome of twenty years of avocational research <br /> performed by Tom Magnuson ( BA , MA in History ) related to the history and <br /> geography of the Piedmont. Mr. Magnuson has thirty years of experience <br /> in government contracting and small , high technology business startups , <br /> and he has written more than twenty -eight business plans for startups . . In <br /> keeping with that process , he performed a feasibility study on this project <br /> ten years ago and repeated it five years ago . These investigations <br /> demonstrated that the project simply wasn ' t practical owing to a want of <br />
