Don Belk <br /> AGENDA ITEM # 1 : CALL TO ORDER <br /> Allison called the meeting to order at 7 * 00 p . m . <br /> AGENDA ITEM -#2 : CONSIDERATION OF ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br /> Allison stated that Kathleen Turner from the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough is here tonight <br /> g <br /> and will lead the meeting with information of the discovery of an important African-American <br /> site here in Orange County . <br /> AGENDA ITEM #36 APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> a. February 25 , 1998 <br /> MOTION : Dickinson moved that the minutes from the February 25 , 1998 meeting be <br /> i <br /> approved . Seconded by Rich . <br /> VOTE : Unanimous . <br /> At this point, Allison turned the meeting over to Kathleen Turner . <br /> Ms . Turner stated that the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough works within the area of the Town <br /> limits of Hillsborough . They have a Northern Orange County Black History Committee that has <br /> been working with Ms . Turner to research African-American history and community historic <br /> sites (people , places and events) in order to enhance their Heritage Tours Program as well as <br /> further the preservation efforts here in Hillsborough . In Working with the community , they <br /> turned their attention to historic African-American schools . The committee is not confined to the <br /> Town limits of Hillsborough, but the entire county . The committee members got more and more <br /> 1 <br />
