ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br /> ROBIN JACOBS <br /> WHEREAS , Robin Jacobs retired at the end of October , 2019 as the Executive Director <br /> and legal counsel for the Association for the Preservation of the Eno River Valley , better <br /> known as the Eno River Association ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Ms . Jacobs previously served the Association for five years as a member <br /> of its Board of Directors ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Ms . Jacobs served as the executive Director and legal counsel for the <br /> Association for 15 years , leading the organization through many significant milestones <br /> and built the Association into a professionally - staffed organization increasing its <br /> capacity to meet the Association ' s mission to conserve and protect the natural , cultural <br /> and historical resources of the Eno River basin ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in her time at the Association , 1 , 664 acres of land were conserved , with the <br /> majority being transferred to public ownership ( Eno River State Park , etc . ) ; and <br /> WHEREAS , during this time , Ms . Jacobs and the Association collaborated with Orange <br /> County on many land conservation projects , including the purchase of four properties <br /> for future parks and /or natural areas with amenities for public enjoyment , three <br /> conservation easements that protect significant natural areas , and five conservation <br /> easements that protect prime farmland ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Ms . Jacobs was a tireless advocate for local and regional open space <br /> conservation and the protection of natural resources across local government <br /> boundaries , and will be greatly missed by Orange County in this capacity ; <br /> NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners expresses its deep appreciation , gratitude and respect for the guidance , <br /> actions and assistance provided by Robin Jacobs and her leadership of the Eno River <br /> Association , and that the Board wishes her well in her retirement . <br /> This the 10t " day of December , 2019 . <br /> \_ I r •. <br /> 9 . �`4. ..Of <br /> `ter, wt r Penny Rich , Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> ` � 0la s al. <br />
