11/1/2019 About - Orange County Living Wage <br />https://orangecountylivingwage.org/about/1/3 <br />About Us <br />Orange County Living Wage is a <br />volunteer-driven 501(c)3 nonproÏt <br />working to promote a living wage in <br />Orange County, North Carolina. <br />Through our employer certiØcation program, we <br />recognize local businesses and organizations who pay <br />the 2019 living wage of $14.25 per hour, or $12.75 per <br />hour with employer-provided health insurance. <br />Inspired by the success of the nation’s leading living wage <br />certiØcation program, Asheville’s Just Economics, OCLW <br />formed in 2015 to address the eÚects of the state’s <br />unrealistically low wage Ùoor: the $7.25 federal minimum <br />wage, which has not changed since 2009. <br />To date, living wage <br />employers have given <br />raises to more than <br />500 employees in <br />Orange County in <br />About <br />WHO <br />WE <br />ARE <br />FREQUENTLY <br />ASKED <br />QUESTIONS <br />WHY <br />LIVING <br />WAGE? <br />
