ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE ORANGE COUNTY 2001-2002 HOME PROGRAM DESIGN <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Orange County Board of Commissioners, that the Commissioners as <br />a member of the Orange County HOME Consortium approve following activities for the 2001-2002 <br />HOME Program. <br />New Construction <br />Funds would be allocated to Orange Community Housing Corporation, an approved Community Housing <br />Organization (CHDO) to assist in the construction of thirty-two (32) townhouses in the Meadowmont <br />development. <br />(Requested amount: $80,000) $80,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to Habitat for Humanity, an approved Community Housing Organization <br />(CHDO) to assist th the construction of one single family dwelling in Carrboro. <br />(Requested amount: $20, 000) $20,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to Residential Services, Inc. with the construction of a continuing care facility <br />that will provide housing and services for 15 senior citizens with developmental disabilities. <br />(Requested amount: $212,500) $100,000 <br />Prop~y Acquisition <br />Funds would be used to assist the Orange-Person_Chatham Mental Health Agency acquire, and if <br />necessary, rehabilitate houses in Orange County for rental occupancy by County residents with <br />disabilities. <br />(Requested amount: $100,000) $58,625 <br />Funds would be allocated to Orange Community Housing Corporation/Community Land Trust in Orange <br />County to acquire a lot in Carrboro for future building purposes. <br />(Requested amount: $30, 000) $30,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to EmPOWERment, Inc. to assist in the purchase of five (S) rental units for <br />lease to low income families with incomes at 50% and below of median income. <br />(Requested amount: $S0, 000) $50,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to the Town of Carrboro to assist in their efforts to acquire approximately <br />purchase condominiums for lease to low income families with incomes at 50% and below of median <br />income. <br />(Requested amount: $135,000) $135,000 <br />Homebnyer Assistance <br />Funds would be allocated to EmPOWERrrient, Inc. to provide deferred second mortgages to first-time <br />hornebuyers with incomes below SO% of median income. <br />(Requested amount: $100,000) $ 69,750 <br />Program Administration <br />$48,300 <br />TOTAL PROGRAM FUNDS $ 591,675 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Manager is hereby designated as the authorized <br />representative of the County to act in connection with the submission of this plan and to provide such <br />additional information as may be required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. <br />This the 1st day of May 2001. <br />
