Year-To-Date Budget <br />Summary <br /> <br /> Paul Laughton, (919) 245-2152 <br />Gary Donaldson, (919) 245-2453 <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendment for fiscal year <br />2019-20. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Department of Social Services <br /> <br />1. The Orange County Department of Social Services (DSS) has received the following <br />revenue for its FY 2019-20 budget: <br />• Foster Care Donations – receipt of an additional $7,622 in donations and fees <br />for foster care and adoption programs in the DSS Client Services Fund, outside of <br />the General Fund. <br />• Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) – Increase of HCCBG <br />funds awarded for In-Home Aide Services managed by DSS, resulting in <br />increases in revenue and expense by $4,340. <br /> <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br />AND INEQUITY <br />The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br />color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br />origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br />or economic status. <br /> <br />1
