He said he would be happy to reach out to this community in regards to the <br /> 9 third position. <br /> 10 Commissioner McKee asked if the third position remain open until the BOCC finds <br /> 11 someone to fill it. <br /> 12 Commissioner Dorosin said yes. <br /> 13 Commissioner Price asked if the BOCC wants to approve the other two applicants. <br /> 14 Chair Rich said she shared Commissioner Marcoplos' concerns that these <br /> 15 applicants do not live in the ETJ, but if Chapel Hill is allowed to appoint after 90 days, she <br /> 16 does not know if there is much to be done. <br /> 17 Commissioner Dorosin said having the ETJ map would help the BOCC with <br /> 18 recruiting. <br /> 19 Chair Rich said to move these appointments forward to the consent agenda. <br /> 20 The Board agreed by consensus. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 6. (Due to other <br /> 25 commitments <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Chair Rich said she is concerned about this position. She said the BOCC created <br /> 28 this seat when it decided to put Rogers Road and the Greene Tract in the ETJ, and desired <br /> 29 for this neighborhood to have representation on the Planning Board. She said none of <br /> 30 these applicants are from those areas. She asked if the Town is also able to appoint here <br /> 31 after a 90-day vacancy, because if so, this voids the BOCC's desire for representation. <br /> 32 Thom Freeman-Stuart said yes, this is also the case here. <br /> 33 Chair Rich said she does not think this is acceptable, as the reason for putting this <br /> 34 land in the ETJ was to ensure representation. <br />
