tC
The Board of Commissioners re-convened at 2:30 o'clock p.m.
Joseph Johnston, Supt. of the Chanel Hill City Administrative School Unit, requested that the
Current Expense budget as set in July, 1959, for his Unit be allowed to remain as appropriated.
Mr. Johnston acknowledged that approximately 75 pupils previously assigned to the Chapel Fill Unit
had been transferred to the County Unit but that the money allotted for these pupils had already
been budgeted and that it would work a hardship on the Chapel Hill City Unit to have to repay to the
County Unit the money due for the transfer of these pupils. Mr. Johnston also requested the 1958-59
overpayment to the Chanel Hill City Unit of approximately $1,600.00 be allowed to stand. These
requests were taken under advisement. Sr. Johnston was informed that a decision would be reached
and that he would be informed of same, at the March meeting of the Board.
Commissioner Walker reported to the Board that the Committee anoolnted by Cbairman Hobbs
to investigate the possibility of a new building to house all the farm Extension offices had
+met. The Committee had inspected the buildings of the adjoining counties and had found that
1 Orange County had several possibilities. Commissioner Walker informed the Board that some
additional land could be purchased which adjoins the present Agricultural building and that
'i additions and] improvements could be made to the present building plus the available land for
?Ineeding narking facilities.
i
The following names were dram to serve as jurors for the February term of Criminal
Court.
1.
