ALL RECORDINGS OF THE MEETING <br />25 WILL BE KEPT FOR 5 YEARS. <br />26 <br />z7 <br />28 A. OPENING REMARKS FROM THE CHAIR <br />29 Chair Halkiotis welcomed everyone to the meeting. The Chair of the Planning Board will <br />3o chair the public hearing items. Also, Commissioner Jacobs will make any expanding comments <br />31 because he has been intimately involved with the Town of Hillsborough in looking at these various <br />32 issues. <br />33 <br />34 PUBLIC CHARGE <br />35 Chair Halkiotis read the public charge. <br />3b <br />37 B. AUTHORIZATION TO SEEK FINANCING FOR PROPERTY ACQUISITION AT 112 AND <br />38 118 NORTH CHURTON STREET IN HILLSBOROUGH <br />39 Director of Central Stores and Purchasing Pam Jones made this presentation. She said that <br />40 Central Carolina Bank has accepted the County's offer of $485,000 for both pieces of property as <br />41 well as the land around it. The projected interested rate is fi.5%. The detailed information on the- <br />42 interest rate will be brought back at the meeting on January 18, 2001. The financing period will be <br />43 for ten years. The only outstanding issue is the environmental assessment. There is one <br />44 underground storage tank and it appears to be abandoned. This information will be confirmed by <br />4s January 18, 2001. <br />46 A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Brown to: <br />47 Approve the resolution, which is incorporated herein by reference and calls for the plan to <br />as purchase the property <br />49 • Authorize the Finance Director to seek financing for the acquisition; and <br />50 Establish January 18, 2001 as the date for public hearing on the acquisition. <br />51 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />~; <br />
