difFerent land use categories under the current plan, the areas are addressed separately in <br />the staff analysis. <br />CP-1-01 and CP-2-01 were presented at the quarterly public hearing on February 26, 2001. <br />• CP-1-01 -Comments from citizens focused primarily on the negative impacts they perceived <br />future non-residential development in Areas 1 and 2 would have on existing neighborhoods <br />and traffic noise, safety, and congestion related to the construction of future roads to <br />connect Old NC 86 and NC 86. <br />• CP-2-01 -For Area 3a, an attorney speaking for Chandler Concrete recommended removing <br />the property from the study area given the use, history, and unusual shape of the property. <br />A business owner in Area 3b expressed uncertainty about the overall plan and zoning <br />changes being proposed. <br />The Planning Board considered CP-1-01 and CP-2-01 on April 4 and recommended approval of <br />the proposed amendments by a 7-1 vote. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS): The Administration recommends approval of proposed amendments <br />CP-1-01 and CP-2-01. <br />
