Memorandum of Request <br /> from Town of Chapel Hill <br /> Fire Department <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2019-20. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 1. The Orange County Department of Social Services (DSS) has received the following <br /> revenue to their FY 2019-20 budget: <br /> • Smart Start — The department has received an additional $6,000 in Smart Start <br /> administrative funds. <br /> • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) — JCPC has received notification <br /> from the Department of Public Safety that the allocation of JCPC money will <br /> increase by $51,157 with no increase in county match. These funds will be placed <br /> in an unallocated account until the JCPC decides on the actual allocation of these <br /> funds. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br /> Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />
