My
roles include special teams, general and specialized instruction, and mid-level supervision.
Following a severe injury, my job changed from enforcement to administrative. My current duties
are budget development, CIP, policy analysis, and strategic planning. I collaborate with
governmental stakeholders, team members and supervisors at all ranks to meet short and long
term goals. I provide data-driven recommendations related to budgeting, personnel allocation
and workload anticipation. I prepare and present documents throughout the year to the BOCC. I
m also a recent graduate from the West Point Leadership Program and NCSU Law Enforcement
Executive Program.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
My perspective has dramatically shifted after becoming permanently disabled in 2016 . It has
widened my lens and allowed me to see the holistic impact of policy, both good and bad. I spent
many years investigating violent gang members to now, improving mental health treatment for
those in detention and improving outcomes during re-entry. This has connected me with other
like-minded local government employees on a quest to bridge the gaps, eliminate disparities and
connect the most vulnerable populations to wrap around services. I m a father of two small
children, raised by a politician and have in-laws deeply rooted in Orange County. One word to
