The attached contract <br />as proposed is the same type agreement as in the past race sessions. <br />There are approximately 25 races or events scheduled this season that require coverage. The <br />coverage will. consist of two ambulances and two paramedics at each race. The ambulances <br />are staffed with Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) that are squad members and the <br />paramedics are county staff: <br />The charge rates for this coverage are based on overtime rate for EMT and Paramedics plus <br />equipment and indirect cost. The charges are $35 per hour for a Paramedic vehicle, $55 per <br />hour for an ambulance with paramedic, and $15 per hour for each additional EMT needed. <br />Charge rates also include a one hour per vehicle charge at the respective vehicle rate for travel <br />to and from the events. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The hourly rates charged cover the personnel ,vehicles and indirect <br />costs to the county for providing the service. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the Contract and <br />authorize the Chair to sign. <br />
