After that, child care centers will test their water once every three years. If a child care center finds elevated concentrations of lead in the center’s water, they will be required to take immediate action. • Public Charge Rule – Injunction Granted – The public charge rule was scheduled to go into effect on October 15, 2019. On Friday, October 11th, multiple courts stopped this, meaning the existing rules will remain in effect until further notice by the federal courts. Immigrants and their families can and should continue to access benefit programs for which they are eligible without fear of certain negative impacts on their immigration statuses. The new forms that were going to be required for immigration applications will not be used until the court decides on the legality of the rule. We do not know when the injunction will expire. There have been past injunctions in federal cases (such as the implementation or continuation of DACA) that have lasted for years.
