Longer-Term Priorities <br />Parks, Open Space and Resource Lands <br />Acquisition and Faci/ity Deve%prrrent <br />The Lands Legacy Long-Term Priority document and the 1999 Joint Master Recreation <br />and Pazks report both encourage thinking beyond the short-term for identifying the <br />highest priorities for resource land acquisition and parks needs. <br />While these long-term priorities are likely outside of the scope of the 2001 bond <br />referendum, it is instructive to begin thinking of these needs for long-term Capital <br />Investment Planning. <br />The following longer-term priorities aze culled from the new "Lands Legacy Long-Term <br />Priorities 2001-2010" document, as well as the same resources listed on page 5. (Please <br />see page 13 far abbreviations used). The goals for longer-term priorities aze the same as <br />those listed for short-term priorities. <br />Longer-term priorities (as defined herein) are identified as projects in the six to 10 yeaz <br />timeframe. These priorities aze grouped by their Lands Legacy goal categories. <br />A. Land Acquisitions <br />Table 3 gives the priorities for land acquisition during the next b to 10 yeazs. <br />B.
