QUICK SUMMARY REPORT <br /> <br />FROM: Parks and Recreation Council <br />SUBJECT: Monthly Meeting <br />DATE: January 5, 2011 <br />LOCATION: Central Recreation Center <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chuck Hobgood, Laurie Lee, Denise Dickenson, Clay Hudson, <br />Keith Bagby, Floyd Bridgewater, Jimmy Carter, Allan Green, Richal Vanhook <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Vanessa de Nijs* <br />STAFF PRESENT: Ardra Webster, Marabeth Carr <br />*-excused <br /> <br /> <br />1. Beginning time of meeting: 6:30pm <br /> <br />2. New Member introduction and comments: Mr. Green arrived once meeting had <br />begun but upon his arrival introductions were made and he provided information on <br />his background and interests. <br /> <br />3. No additions or changes to the agenda <br /> <br />4. Report of the Co-Chairs <br />a. Denise had nothing to report <br />b. Chuck discussed the 2011 meeting calendar <br /> <br />5. Committee Reports <br />a. Keith reported the IPWG will not meet until later in the year. <br />b. Chuck reported that the Sportsplex Advisory Council will stay intact but <br />will not be considered a County Committee. PARC will be able to have <br />representation on the Council and hopefully it will be someone who is <br />involved with Sportsplex activities. He mentioned that he is involved with <br />the activities. The Sportsplex Advisory Council will meet quarterly. <br />c. Floyd reported the New Hope Creek Corridor Advisory Council had not <br />had a meeting since October. <br />d. Chuck reported PARC Goals will be worked on by PARC members. <br />Allan Green was given a list of Goals and asked to consider which ones <br />interest him. <br /> <br />6. New Business <br />Dave Stancil had staff disseminate the “Outside Agency Orientation & <br />Overview Session FY2011-2012 Budget Cycle” handout. It was suggested this be <br />considered a topic for the March PARC meeting since the February meeting is a joint <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> 7. Old Business <br />Agenda was reviewed by PARC members. The agenda is to include: Report of the <br />Directors from Orange County, Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Roundtable Topics that <br />include: Topic of Community Use of Schools which will be lead by Keith Bagby. <br />Marabeth Carr will send Keith information from the IPWG about the discussions they <br />have had concerning Community Use of Schools.
