Manager) Jane Cousins (Chapel Hill Public Works staff) <br />_____________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Beginning time of meeting: 7pm <br /> <br />Old Business (if any) NONE <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Introduction of new Solid Waste Administrative Assistant Mary Carlson <br /> <br />Topic A Approval of September minutes: <br /> <br /> Topic B: Summary of Board of Commissioners October 4 Meeting - Re: Rogers Road <br />Area Mitigation Options and Landfill Closure Impacts <br /> <br />Wilson gave report of BOCC actions regarding solid waste issues at October 4 meeting <br />including their responses to list of requests from Rogers Eubanks Neighborhood <br />Association. <br />Board recommended to not apply for permit to expand landfill capacity once it was full at <br />current design. <br />Board recommended against using Solid Waste Enterprise Fund to fund sewers for <br />Rogers Road neighborhood. <br />Board recommended using Enterprise Fund to provide water lines to the ~67 homes in <br />the historic Rogers Road neighborhood that do not now have access to public drinking <br />water supply. <br />Board recommended using Enterprise funds and proceeding with cleanup of illegal <br />dump sites within the ¾ mile radius of landfill, as allowed by law. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued of when landfill might close, fiscal impacts on Solid Waste <br />Department of landfill closure, which areas near Rogers Road/landfill might or might not <br />receive public water and/or sewer service as part of improvements program and the
