2 <br /> <br />Topic C: Programs and Services Update: <br /> <br />Pollock reported that the two recent Shred A Thons recycled 40,000 pounds of <br />confidential paper collected from residents and small businesses, the most ever <br />recorded from these events. The next Shred A Thon is October 13 in Chapel Hill. <br />Pollock reported that the County has been offered two recycling grants from the NC <br />Division of Environmental Assistance and Outreach (NCDAEO). One is to aid in <br />purchase of a baler to replace the current old baler and the second is for three roll-off <br />containers to haul tear-off shingles to a paving company for recycling into asphalt. <br />Wilson described the 2011/12 budget process and announced that the manager had not <br />yet delivered his proposed budget to the BOCC and that is scheduled for May 17. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned 8:30pm <br /> <br />Name of minute taker (s): Blair Pollock and Wanda McCain. <br />
