Caldwell
summarized the March 19 event as successful with 126 volunteers participating, ~3,800
lbs recyclables and 2,400 lbs trash collected and a lot of collaboration with Solid Waste
Department and community groups.

Caldwell stated that 44 illegal dump sites as well have been identified and it appeared
roadside dumping had increased since the hours at Convenience Centers were reduced
last year.

Gayle Wilson responded that the County was working on an approach to going onto
private property to address illegal dump sites and that there is a budget proposal to
expand the hours at the SWCCs, especially Eubanks and Walnut Grove Church Road
sites that might mitigate the ongoing littering/illegal dumping type problem.
