If approved
construction would begin in September and site activities limited to household waste disposal. A
remote temporary recycling site will be established at Cedar Grove Park.

Single Stream Recycling Implementation has overall gone well. It seems urban curbside
collection has increased by weight compared to July 2011. The shift has have also been
implemented in all other programs – rural curbside, multifamily, commercial and dropoff. We
have received feedback on the difficulty of using the rolloffs to dump large amounts of paper and
are attempting to have at least one slant-top rolloff at each dropoff site to remediate that
difficulty.

The Landfill Neighborhood Cleanup Project is proceeding with about 22 participating properties.
Visible materials including trash, brush, tree limbs and other materials including properly
contained but potentially hazardous materials are being removed from the property at no cost to
the property owners or occupants. The contractor expects to be finished next week.
