This was a special project of the 2013 Piedmont Laureate in Triangle independent <br />book stores. Only 1 application has been received for the 2014 Piedmont Laureate (authors of short <br />fiction). The application process will be reopened with a new application deadline. Festifall went well. <br />Thirty (30) people signed up to be on our email list. The dates for the 2014 Artists’ Salons are 2/21, 5/16, <br />8/15 and 11/21. The October 2013 OCAC meeting is the last one for Bronwyn Merritt, Charles Hochman & <br />Leah Rade. Their 6-month extensions have expired. Our Fall 2013 grant application deadline is 11/21/13. <br /> Action Item: None <br />Topic C <br />Discussion Point: Volunteer Applications for OCAC Board <br />Decision/Vote(s): Three new board members are needed to replace Charles Hochman, Bronwyn Merritt <br />and Leah Rade. Staff and board will continue to work to recruit new members. The name of Volunteer <br />Applicant Doris A. Friend was selected to move forward if she is still interested and available to serve. <br /> Action Item: Staff will contact the applicant and submit her name to the Clerk for possible appointment. <br />Topic D <br /> Discussion Point: Liaison’s Report & Ad Hoc Committees <br />Decision/Vote(s): Brief CHOCVB report given. Trend is less foot traffic, but increased website visits. Topic <br />of possibly relocating the Visitors Bureau will be discussed at their next meeting on 10/16/13. <br /> Action Item: None <br />Topic E <br />Discussion Point: Agenda Additions/Old Business/New Business <br />Decision/Vote(s): New website design is in progress. Hopefully it will be ready by the end of the year. It <br />was mentioned that the ArtsCenter may be moving. The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership is doing a <br />cultural mapping exercise. Staff will emphasize the reference RE: serving on the OCAC board in our e- <br />
