EASLEY <br />GOVERNOR <br />C~ttra~j~¢ <br />PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR'SblEEK <br />Zoos <br />BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the services and functions performed by public safety telecommunicators are <br />critical to the safety and welfare of the citizens of North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, public safety telecommunicators provide 24-hour-a-day service as the vital link <br />in the chain of emergency services providers; and <br />WHEREAS, these dedicated professionals aze the initial point of contact for citizens in crisis <br />situations who need emergency services assistance; and - <br />WHEREAS, public safety telecommunicators work long hours answering the public's daily <br />cries for help, and aze often instrumental in saving lives and reducing property damage when <br />tragedy strikes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL F. EASLEY, Governor of the State of North Carolina, <br />do hereby proclaim Apri18-14, 2001, as "PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR'S <br />WEEK" in North Carolina, and urge our citizens to acknowledge the contributions of these loyal <br />public servants. <br />
