Orange County Schools is not responsible for <br /> funding the project or guaranteeing any deficit spending. <br /> PROJECT/PROGRAMTell us about your project or program <br /> INFORMATION <br /> Title of Grant Cedar Ridge High School Darkroom Project <br /> Request <br /> Grant Amount $2,500 <br /> Requested <br /> Is the person in No <br /> charge of this <br /> program or project <br /> different from the <br /> Authorizing Official? <br /> What are you Operational expense (arts organizations ONLY) <br /> requesting funding <br /> for? <br /> Request Summary We request funds to support expenses to operate the film <br /> photography Darkroom Project in the following areas for the <br /> upcoming year, including summer programming: film, paper, <br /> developer chemicals, two months of gallery rental space, and <br /> exhibition supplies. <br /> Cirruculum and Cedar Ridge High School has several classes that teach students <br /> Enrichment about digital media and 21st century learning in support of the North <br /> Carolina K-12 Visual Literacy Standards in the Arts Education Visual <br /> Arts curriculum. The film project complements the skills in this <br /> curriculum, as well as the Digital Literacy Competencies of the NC <br /> Department of Public Instruction. <br /> Organizational Goals Participation in the project ensures student photographers have <br /> access to a quality arts experience by learning the entire lifecycle of <br /> film photography: film and camera operations, photo and subject <br /> composition, lighting, film processing, printing, and showing the final <br /> product in a twice-yearly community exhibition. The student <br /> photographers are instructed by seasoned professional <br /> photographers, hear guest speakers discuss different perspectives <br /> on their artistic adventures in film photography, and participate in <br /> photographic field trips, all outside regular school hours. <br /> How will you We measure success of the program by seeing our students learn <br /> evaluate whether or the entire lifecycle of film photography, from learning the very basics <br /> not your goals have through two gallery showings per year, including selling of their art. <br /> been met?
