ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: March 29, 2001 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. ~_ <br />SUBJECT: Staff Follow U Re orts <br />DEPARTMENT: County Manager <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />None <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />John Link or Rod Visser, ext 2300 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-$181 <br />Chapel Hill 9fi$-4501 <br />Durham 68$-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To receive brief fallow up reports from staff on two inquiries from the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />BACKGROUND: At their regular meeting on March 20, 2001, the BOCC requested that staff <br />report at the March 29 work session regarding issues involving (1) the Carolina Spring <br />Apartments (a 124 unit senior affordable housing complex in Carrboro) and (2) a project being <br />undertaken by the Lake Forest Association to dredge Eastwood Lake in Chapel Hill to reduce <br />the sedimentation that has collected in this body of water. StafF will provide brief written <br />updates on these topics at or before the work session, and be available to respond to the <br />Board's questions. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with the presentation of <br />the staff reports. Financial implications of each of these two matters will be addressed in the <br />written reports. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the reports for <br />information only. <br />
