County Manager's Report <br /> 24 Bonnie Hammersley introduced the new Housing Director, Emila Sutton, who has <br /> 25 been on staff for a week. <br /> 26 Emila Sutton said she happy to be here and pleased with the innovative advances <br /> 27 Orange County has made towards housing issues. She briefly reviewed her work history. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 30 John Roberts said the Supreme Court case involving Orange County has been <br /> 31 continued at the Plaintiff's request, but the Court will add two additional cases to the docket. <br /> 32 He said the Clerk of Court can arrange for tickets if the Board would like to attend the event. <br /> 33 John Roberts said that the Legislature has not had a lot of activity lately; they continue <br /> 34 to convene but not much is happening. <br /> 35 John Roberts said the firearms issue has been discussed with the Planning <br /> 36 Department, and it may not be available for further discussion until February. <br /> 37 John Roberts said a few Ordinance amendments are forthcoming, which include the <br /> 38 clearing up of a discrepancy about pocket knives in County buildings, but this is not related to <br /> 39 the other firearms discussions. <br /> 40 Commissioner McKee said that Chatham County takes these weapons when you <br /> 41 enter a County building. <br /> 42 Commissioner Marcoplos asked if pocket knives are allowed in the Orange County <br /> 43 Courthouse. <br /> 44 John Roberts said yes, but it must not exceed the length restrictions, and there is a <br /> 45 discrepancy in the length description of weapons in the code, which he will fix and bring it <br /> 46 back to the BOCC for consideration. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 11.
