Orange County Climate Council – Appointment <br />The Board will consider appointing one position on the newly formed Orange County <br />Climate Council. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Greene, seconded by Commissioner Marcoplos <br />to appoint Jonas Monast to the newly formed Orange County Climate Council. <br /> <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> <br />Commissioner Marcoplos said he is thrilled with this group, and it is full of excellent <br />people. He said the roster is coming together. He said he attended the North Orange NAACP <br />meeting, and it is looking to fill slots. He said the Orange County School Board is doing the <br />same, but he has not heard back from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board yet. He said <br />Hillsborough and Carrboro are working on representatives. <br />Chair Rich asked if anyone has reached out to UNC. <br />Commissioner Marcoplos said he has, and UNC is in the midst of hiring a new <br />sustainability director. <br /> <br />12.
