Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Chair Rich noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> 26 - 5-a: Additional Information <br /> 27 - PowerPoint for Item 6-b <br /> 28 - 11-a: Email from Commissioner Greene <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> 32 Chair Rich acknowledged the public charge. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Arts Moment <br /> 35 Katie Murray, Arts Commission Director, introduced David Menconi: <br /> 36 <br /> 37 2019 Piedmont Laureate David Menconi is a music critic and arts reporter, formerly at the <br /> 38 Raleigh News & Observer, where he was a staff writer for 28 years. He has also written for <br /> 39 Rolling Stone, Billboard, Spin, New York Times and salon.com. He has published three books <br /> 40 with a fourth, a music history of North Carolina, to be published by University of North Carolina <br /> 41 Press in 2020. He is also co-editor of the American Music Series for University of Texas Press <br /> 42 and hosts a weekly radio show about the music of North Carolina, "That Old North State Radio <br /> 43 Hour" on WCLY/95.7FM. He holds a Master's degree in journalism, and lives in Raleigh. <br /> 44 David Menconi described the Piedmont Poet Laureate process, and his activities in this <br /> 45 role.
