9 <br /> 1 A total of 65 photographs were submitted in May 2019. A panel of judges selected first, second <br /> 2 and third place winners from the Youth and Adult divisions. In addition, judges identified two <br /> 3 additional Honorable Mention awards per age group due to the many high-quality submissions. <br /> 4 This year's judges were photographers Kent Murray, Holden Richards, and David Schaub. <br /> 5 Winners received a congratulatory letter, certificate, and for first through third place, a small <br /> 6 monetary award. During the month of August, the photographs were displayed at Cup a Joe in <br /> 7 Hillsborough. For September, the photos will be on display at the Orange County Public Library. <br /> 8 The photographs will then be displayed at the Orange County Visitors Center in Hillsborough <br /> 9 from October through December. In January 2020, the Orange County/Chapel Hill Visitors <br /> 10 Center in Chapel Hill will host the photos. The winning photographs can also be viewed on the <br /> 11 Orange County DEAPR website under the "breaking news" <br /> 12 section http://www.orangecountync.gov/deapr/, on the department's Facebook Page, and will <br /> 13 also be "streaming" on the visual monitors in County buildings. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Lynne Hecht made the following PowerPoint presentation: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 The Nature of Orange Photography Contest <br /> 18 • 8th annual photography contest, 2019 <br /> 19 • Photographers help document the beauty and diversity of our natural resources or show <br /> 20 residents enjoying our parks and environment. Theme this year: Parks and Trails in <br /> 21 Orange County. All photos taken in Orange County. <br /> 22 • 65 entries (27 Youth and 38 Adults) <br /> 23 • Volunteer judges evaluated photos based on: <br /> 24 -relevancy <br /> 25 -composition/arrangement <br /> 26 -focus/sharpness <br /> 27 -lighting and creativity <br /> 28 <br /> 29 lit Place Adult: "Occaneechi Village Snow" <br /> 30 Bob Johnson <br /> 31 <br /> 32 2—d Place Adult: "Snow Covered Eno" <br /> 33 Charles R.
