8 <br />PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this grant is to provide planning, training, develop response <br />capabilities, and -conduct a countywide exercise. <br />GOALS <br />• Provide quality terrorist training #o emergency responders. <br />• Ensure an information exchange an terrorism issues. <br />• Improve Orange County's Multi-Hazard Plan tv better address terrorism. <br />• Conduct a community exercise to deter a terrorist event. <br />Promote .measures to protect facilities. <br />Train and improve faciliny persvrtnel to address a terrorism threat. <br />OBJECTIVES <br />• Unify the efforts for the implementation of~the Incident Command System <br />(Guidelines) using the Department of Defense (DOD) domestic preparedness <br />process. <br />• Pramate training on enhancement of countywide awareness on terrorism through <br />the DOD training cycle. <br />• Disseminate and develop information to emergency response agencies (brochures, <br />guidelines, handouts and electronic media.), <br />• improve the mass casualty preparedness for hospitals, fire, rescue, hazardous <br />material team and emergency medical services in Orange County. <br />a <br />Write a terrorism annex (roles and responsibilities) for the County multi-hazard plan. <br />• Coordinate, develop, and implement Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) exercise <br />for Orange County ~emer~ency responders and local/state/federal officials. <br /> <br />
