DocuSign Envelope ID: E30BEDC7-948D-435B-A81E-A5290EB885F3 <br /> 2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY AMENDMENT TO FIRE PROTECTION AND <br /> EMERGENCY SERVICE AGREEMENT <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> THIS AMENDMENT to the Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement, made and entered into this the 15th day <br /> of August, 2019 , by and between the County of Orange, a body politic and corporate of the State of North Carolina, <br /> (the "County"), and North Chatham Fire Department (the "Fire Department"); <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, the County and Fire Department entered into a Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement: <br /> Damascus Fire Protection District dated, July 8, 2013, for fire protection and emergency services (hereinafter the <br /> "Original Agreement"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the County and Fire Department desire to amend the Original Agreement, while keeping in effect all terms <br /> and conditions of the Original Agreement not inconsistent with the terms and conditions set forth below. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,for and in consideration for the mutual covenants and agreements made herein,the parties agree to <br /> amend the Original Agreement as follows: <br /> SECTION 1s.: This Agreement is effective as of July 1, 2013 and shall continue for a term of five (5) years <br /> Unless terminated as hereinafter provided until a new Agreement is signed by the Parties. ThFs <br /> Either Party may terminate this Agreement effective at the end of any fiscal year by giving the other Party <br /> notice at least one (1) year in advance of the end of the fiscal year that the Agreement is to terminate. <br /> Except for the changes made to Section 15 herein, the Original Agreement shall remain in full force and effect to the <br /> extent it is not inconsistent with this Amendment.
