County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y!N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Commissioner Steve Halkiotis <br />Commissioner Barry Jacobs <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 6$8-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To discuss any additional possible items for inclusion in Orange County's <br />legislative agenda package for the 2001 North Carolina General Assembly Session based on <br />meeting with Orange County's legislative delegation on March 12, 2001. <br />BACKGROUND: The BOCC expressed,a desire to formulate a.legislative package to pursue <br />for the 2001 North Carolina General Assembly Session which began on January 24, 2001. A <br />recommended list of potential legislative items was provided to the BOCC and was approved by <br />the Board at the March 6, 2001 BOCC meeting following a public hearing and several <br />modifications. <br />Members of the Board met with Orange County's legislative delegation on March 12, 2001 to <br />discuss the County's legislative items and other items related to the 2001 General Assembly <br />Session. Based on discussions at that meeting, the Board may want to address any additional <br />legislative items to support during the 2001 General Assembly Session. <br />F <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None at this time. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board proceed as it desires <br />based on the March 12, 2001 ,meeting with Orange Caunty's legislative delegation. <br />
