Structuring, naming and branding the new entity will require careful thought, input from <br /> this board, and perhaps the expertise of an outside consultant. <br /> • Several weeks ago, Katie was asked to convene stakeholders with interest in the <br /> placement of the proposed stage at the County owned River Park in Hillsborough. The <br /> initial meeting resulted in many differing opinions and it was agreed that Katie would <br /> convene a second meeting to work toward consensus. In Katie's absence, a meeting <br /> was held without notification to stakeholders. A key stakeholder learned of the meeting <br /> and attended to express concerns and recommendations. The meeting ended in <br /> acrimony. Hopefully, Katie can reconvene the stakeholders to move forward in a <br /> positive manner. <br /> V. G ra nts: <br /> • About ten grant applications have been received so far. <br /> VI. Liaison Reports: <br /> Visitor's Bureau—Tim <br /> o Still primarily focused on impact of Air BNBs in Chapel Hill. <br /> Hillsborough Arts Council—Doris <br /> o Art in the Heart of Hillsborough on May 4th was a success. Forty-eight artists <br /> participated. <br /> o Final strategic planning meeting was held on Saturday, May 111h. Doris will write-up <br /> the final strategic plan document. <br /> Orange County Artists Guild—Anita <br /> o Spring is in the Art exhibit is up at FRANK and the "pop-up" space at University <br /> Place through May 31" <br /> UNC/Chapel Hill Arts Commission/UNC Playmakers—Justin <br /> o Chapel Hill Arts Commission is seeking funding for public art for a location at <br /> Fordham Blvd and Elliott Rd <br /> o Have agreed to have the option to dedicate funds to a specific project or <br /> dedicate funds to a larger pool <br /> o Playmakers will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary in 2019-2020 <br /> o Arts Everywhere on UNC campus have installed short story kiosks around <br /> campus <br /> The Arts Center/Carrboro Arts Committee—Dan <br /> o TAC is gearing up for summer camp—our busiest season. <br /> o The Gala at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens was a success. The event was <br /> sold out and both gross and net profits exceed last year. <br /> o Carrboro Arts Committee is emphasizing Pride events. <br /> o Jeff York spoke to the Carrboro Arts Committee about public art <br />
