Chris called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> II. Ashley moved, Linda seconded to approve the April, 2019. Motion approved. <br /> III. Advisory Board Update: <br /> • UNC student, Rachael Despard's application to fill the UNC Student Liaison position <br /> replacing Evan Linett has been submitted to Orange County Commission. Anita moved, <br /> Justin seconded the motion to approve the election of Rachael Despard, pending <br /> approval from the Commission. Motion passed. <br /> • Graduation congratulations to Evan and many, many thanks for his service this past <br /> year. Good luck Evan! <br /> • Katie has been out of town for an extended period due to her father's hospitalization. <br /> OCAC's by-law revisions will be on the Commission's June agenda. <br /> • The Nominating Committee presented a list of officers to serve June, 2019 through <br /> December 31, 2020: <br /> o Chair, Fred Joiner <br /> o Vice Chair,Tinka Jordy <br /> o Secretary, Delia Keefe <br /> Doris moved,Ashley seconded to approve the slate of officers as presented. Motion <br /> approved. Congratulations and thanks to our new officers! <br /> IV. Director's Report: <br /> • Katie met with Deputy County Manager,Travis Myren regarding the formulation of a <br /> 501(c)3 in partnership with OCAC. Under this structure Katie would remain a County <br /> employee. The 501(c)3 would be similar to the nonprofit partnerships recently formed <br /> within other County agencies. The 501(c)3 would be the public-facing entity named <br /> something like Orange County Arts Council to provide clarity to the arts community. <br />
