Revised 6/19 <br />ORANGE COUNTY AMENDMENT TO FIRE PROTECTION AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICE AGREEMENT <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />THIS AMENDMENT to the Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement, made and entered into this the 15th day <br />of August, 2019 , by and between the County of Orange, a body politic and corporate of the State of North Carolina, <br />(the “County”), and North Chatham Fire Department (the “Fire Department”); <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County and Fire Department entered into a Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement: <br />Damascus Fire Protection District dated, July 8, 2013, for fire protection and emergency services (hereinafter the <br />“Original Agreement”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County and Fire Department desire to amend the Original Agreement, while keeping in effect all terms <br />and conditions of the Original Agreement not inconsistent with the terms and conditions set forth below. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration for the mutual covenants and agreements made herein, the parties agree to <br />amend the Original Agreement as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 15.: This Agreement is effective as of July 1, 2013 and shall continue for a term of five (5) years <br />unless terminated as hereinafter provided until a new Agreement is signed by the Parties. This <br />Agreement may be renewed for two additional five-year terms upon mutual agreement of the Parties. <br />Either Party may terminate this Agreement effective at the end of any fiscal year by giving the other Party <br />notice at least one (1) year in advance of the end of the fiscal year that the Agreement is to terminate. <br /> <br />Except for the changes made to Section 15 herein, the Original Agreement shall remain in full force and effect to the <br />extent it is not inconsistent with this Amendment.
